New York Jets coach Anthony Lynn has a long list of people to interview, and the Jets are in the process of narrowing the field of candidates.
The New York Daily News’ Adam Kilgore and the Associated Press first reported Lynn will interview for the vacant head coach position on Wednesday.
Lynn is one of a handful of candidates to land a job with the Jets this week.
He will also meet with other NFL front office executives on Wednesday, and it is unclear when he will officially begin interviews.
The Jets have the third-most cap space in the NFL with $94 million, and have a large number of draft picks they would like to keep.
They could use some of those picks to help build a roster for the future.
New York is not the only team looking to hire a head coach, and other teams have also expressed interest in Lynn.
Former Bills coach Rex Ryan has reportedly been mentioned as a possible candidate, but he has yet to make a formal decision about whether or not to leave Buffalo.
