Coach Terry Bradshaws reaction to a medical emergency on his first day back from a trip to Spain was “I am the coach,” a statement he released Monday night.
The 76ers’ coach made the comment while being treated at a hospital in Madrid after suffering a heart attack on his way back from his trip to the Spanish capital.
In a statement released by his family, Bradshaw said that he was “thankful for the time we had together,” and he thanked his wife and son for their support during his time away.
He also said that the hospital had been “full of amazing doctors and nurses.”
“I do not have a diagnosis of a heart condition,” Bradshaw’s statement said.
“But as a person I know how important it is to get well and to take care of my family.”
The Sixers said in a statement that Bradshaw was “a loving husband and father of two daughters,” and added that his wife, Michelle, and son were “disappointed in his decision to take this difficult and potentially life-threatening action.”
