Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien is keeping the starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, out of Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
Injuries to Fitzpatrick and starting safety Jairus Byrd have left the Texans with only two healthy quarterbacks.
Fitzpatrick is in the concussion protocol and Byrd has been placed on injured reserve.
The Texans are also dealing with a lingering concussion.
Fitzpatrick will be out of action for about four weeks and Byrd for about three weeks.
Byrd will play Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fitzpatrick was in the game against Jacksonville on Sunday and started for the Texans on Monday night, completing seven of 10 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.
