The Detroit Lions are “dirtiest” team in the NFL.
The Detroit Lions were “damp” for their first three games of the season, according to the NFL’s official statistics, with just three sacks allowed in those games.
The Lions also allowed only 16 sacks in their last six games, the most in the league.
That is the worst mark in the entire NFL.
They also allowed the NFL-worst 10.5 sacks per game, which is tied for the second-worst mark in a season.
Detroit’s best defensive performance of the year came in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams.
In that game, the Lions allowed only one sack and four quarterback hits.
During that same time, the Bears allowed 11 sacks and five QB hits.
They were also third in the NFC in sacks allowed.
It was the worst sack-to-hit ratio in the history of the league, according the NFL stats.
The Bears’ worst season sack-deflect ratio is 13.8.
When the Bears’ sack-and-deflection ratio is ranked by the number of sacks allowed per game in the first quarter of the 2017 season, it is tied with the Raiders for the fourth-worst NFL record, behind the Titans, Rams and Colts.

Their best defensive play came in their first two games, against the Packers and Falcons, when the Lions held Atlanta to one sack.
Lions coach Jim Caldwell said he didn’t want to see a team in which there was “a bunch of sacks in the third quarter,” or where “you’re doing a ton of things wrong.”
“We want to play defense.
We want to be able to stop the run,” Caldwell said.
“If you do it the right way, we’re going to be successful.”
The Lions had their best offensive performance of 2017 in Week 9 against the Vikings, which featured 13 touchdowns to five interceptions.
The Lions went on to beat Minnesota 31-14.
They were the best offense in the AFC and the worst defense, according NFL.com.
But even the best offenses can’t overcome the defense, which allowed 16 sacks and four interceptions in their final seven games.
The NFL’s defense rating was a league-worst 31.8 in the three games.
